Hello, my name is Mrs. Del Castillo and I am going to be your science teacher this year. This is going to be the best school year ever, I can feel it! I have so many wonderful fun and exciting lessons and activities planned for you and I hope you are prepared to work hard.
Let me give you a little background on myself. This will be my third year teaching at Casimir Middle School. Go Cougars!!! Before I decided to become a teacher, I worked for a pharmaceutical company for five years. When I worked for this company I worked in a lab called Quality Control. In this lab we would test the medicines we made to make sure they were pure enough for a human to consume. I enjoyed this job very much, but decided that my real dream for a career was to become a teacher. To be able to do both of my professions (chemist & teacher), I had to go to college to obtain a degree. My first degree is in Biology which I attained at UC Santa Barbara. In order for me to become a teacher I went back to school and received my teaching credential at Cal State Long Beach. Believe or not, I am still in school right now getting a Masters in Education through Walden University. So I am a student just like you.
I was born and raised in Torrance and attended all Torrance schools. Torrance is a great place to grow up and a great place to learn. There are many things I enjoy on my spare time such as cooking, hiking, bike riding, the beach, sewing, movies, and spending time with my friends and family. I look forward to meeting you and wish you a wonderful year of learning.
